During IPL 9, RCB initiated a Waste-to-Recycled-Kits program where special collection bins were set up in different stands across Chinnaswamy Stadium to collect used plastic bottles from fans in the audience. The bins were set up in the stadium from the match preceding the Green Match.

10 Years of Celebrations by RCB

RCB has initiated a comprehensive waste management program for all the home matches at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

  • RCB believes in leading by example and have therefore implemented a program to ensure that the 8-10 tons of waste generated in each match is managed effectively, to create a positive impact on the environment.
  • Some key highlights include: Installation of separate bin system in all the stands to promote waste segregation at source into Dry and Wet waste• Promotion of waste segregation practice amongst fans through on-site awareness posters and videos
  • Volunteers to help with primary segregation and fan awareness
  • All the collected waste is then sent for recycling (Dry Waste) and composting (Wet Waste) accordinglyStatistics including the total quantity of waste generated, amount of waste recycled and composted and the total reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as a result will be reported for all the 7 home matches.
